Luo An experienced a soul swap.
While heading to the racetrack after a quarrel with his family, he got into a car accident.
Luo An watched himself pass through walls effortlessly, hearing the intruder converse with a mechanical voice in his mind.
The mechanical voice said that within five years, if the intruder could change the original host’s rebellious nature, improve his relationships, and ultimately make everyone in the world accept the intruder as the original host, the real Luo An would disappear completely.
At first, Luo An followed the intruder every day, hoping someone would notice something wrong.
But the intruder was clever. He gradually changed his personality and occasionally even deliberately mimicked Luo An’s willfulness.
In the first year after the soul swap, various race cars in the garage were already covered in dust. The intruder called it “saying goodbye to the past.” Thus, Luo An’s racing medals were casually tossed into the trash, and award photos were “accidentally broken.” The intruder moved into Luo An’s former bedroom, slowly discarding Luo An’s favorite figurines and replacing them with neatly arranged bookshelves.
“Dad, Mom, don’t worry, I won’t be like before, always making you worry,” Luo An heard the intruder say to his parents with a smile.
In the second year, a new family portrait hung in the living room. The intruder wore a formal suit Luo An would never have worn, posing with his parents and three brothers.
In the photo, the intruder had his left arm around Father Luo and his right arm around his mother, with the three stern-faced brothers behind. The intruder stood in the center, flashing a sweet smile at the camera.
In the third year, the intruder picked up Luo An’s once-favorite quirky ceramic mug.
Luo An’s eyes flashed red as he lunged at the intruder.
But he couldn’t even touch the intruder’s clothes, his hands passing through the intruder’s body repeatedly.
Luo An watched helplessly as the mug crashed to the floor, shattering instantly.
The sound of breaking ceramic woke the other family members. His mother hurried downstairs, passing through Luo An’s body, leaving only a slight breeze.
“Is your hand alright?” Luo An heard his mother ask the intruder concernedly.
“I’m fine, Mom. I was just careless,” the intruder replied.
“As long as you’re not hurt, that’s what matters,” his mother said, helping the intruder up, worry still in her eyes.
His father came downstairs too. The butler timely prepared afternoon tea. No one paid attention to the shards on the floor as they walked to the garden, chatting and laughing harmoniously.
…
Gradually, everyone began to like the more considerate and thoughtful intruder.
In the fourth year after the soul swap, Luo An watched the intruder get along splendidly with his friends, interact harmoniously with his parents, their eyes full of satisfaction; saw his three brothers accept gifts from the intruder, their words full of affection…
Except for Luo An’s rival, Chu Jin.
Passing by the intruder, Chu Jin still maintained his cold, silent demeanor from before.
“Jin-ge, I was wrong before, always causing you trouble.”
The intruder held a book in his arms and followed Chu Jin. Luo An was already good-looking, and the intruder was skilled at utilizing his advantages. After speaking to Chu Jin, he slightly curved his eyes and smiled softly. Light danced in the youth’s eyes, shimmering in the sunlight. From afar, he looked as beautiful as a painting.
“Get out of the way.”
Unfortunately, Chu Jin seemed immune to this charm. The man’s brows furrowed, his face even flashing a hint of disgust.
