“Sir, you only need one double room?” The receptionist asked softly with a gentle smile, kindly confirming once more.
“Yes, one is enough,” Qin Yu responded with a smile.
“Alright, may I see your IDs, gentlemen?”
Qin Yu deftly retrieved his ID from behind his phone case and handed it over.
Glancing at Xie Cen, who was moving slower, Qin Yu seized the opportunity. He reached out, patting and squeezing Xie Cen’s lower back.
“Actually, I wouldn’t mind going to your place,” Xie Cen said, finally extracting his ID from his wallet and politely handing it to the receptionist.
Qin Yu winced, recalling the awkward memories from their shared apartment.
“Haha, let’s not. It’s inconvenient, since we have roommates.”
Inconvenient indeed. He shuddered at the thought of another voyeuristic encounter, imagining the bizarre four-way eye contact.
Last time, to cover one lie, Qin Yu had exerted himself to fake an orgasm, moaning for several minutes. He’d nearly suffocated in the bathroom from the effort.
Thinking back, Qin Yu wondered what possessed him to do such a thing.
He laughed awkwardly, accepting the room key from the receptionist.
“You’re quite popular,” Xie Cen remarked unexpectedly.
Huh?!! Popular?!
While Qin Yu didn’t fully grasp the meaning, he wasn’t about to refuse a compliment from his equal.
Chalking it up to Xie Cen’s romantic mood, Qin Yu nodded shamelessly. “Indeed I am.” Under Xie Cen’s direct gaze, he pressed the elevator button.
Ding!
The pleasant chime sounded, and they exited in unison.
The lavish decor highlighted the hotel’s high-end service. They walked side by side down the corridor in silence.
Reaching their room, Xie Cen casually took the key from Qin Yu, who leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed.
“Oh? Is this some gay-exclusive hotel?” Qin Yu suddenly quipped.
Perplexed, Xie Cen furrowed his brow. “Why do you say that?” As he reached for the doorknob, Qin Yu swiftly grabbed his wrist.
Though Xie Cen’s arm was all solid muscle, Qin Yu found himself increasingly attracted.
“Look there,” Qin Yu whispered, resting his chin on Xie Cen’s shoulder and continuing his subtle touches.
Puzzled, Xie Cen followed Qin Yu’s gaze to the corridor’s end. Two men were passionately kissing, bodies entwined. Their door was open, but they showed no intention of entering. Their muffled moans echoed in the quiet hallway.
The sounds of their lips meeting made one blush.
“If you’re envious, we could do the same,” Xie Cen said, meeting Qin Yu’s eyes with a cool gaze and resigned expression.
“No, I just thought their dynamic seemed odd. Hey, don’t get any ideas.” Even as Qin Yu spoke, his wandering hands found Xie Cen’s abdomen, caressing his abs through his shirt.
“How so?” Xie Cen raised an eyebrow, suddenly interested in the topic.
“They seem like strangers who just met. Their relationship is… ambiguous,” Qin Yu glanced back towards the corridor’s end.
“…”
Xie Cen fell silent at Qin Yu’s words, unsure how to respond.
Could it be possible their own situation was similar?
“Oh, not like us, I mean—” They both turned their heads simultaneously.
They realized the couple at the end of the hall had stopped their intimate activities and were about to look their way.
Shit!
What was this feeling of almost being caught peeping?
Acting swiftly, Qin Yu tightened his grip on Xie Cen’s waist and kissed him roughly.
Xie Cen reacted just as quickly, but instead of embracing Qin Yu’s waist, he pressed his hand against the back of Qin Yu’s head.
His long, slender fingers tangled in Qin Yu’s thick hair. As their kiss grew more aggressive, Xie Cen increased the pressure on Qin Yu’s head.
Unlike their previous gentle explorations, this kiss awakened a primal instinct. Their eyes held not just desire, but an unmistakable drive to dominate, like two beasts locked in combat.
Amid the chaotic kiss, Qin Yu managed to find the doorknob and pushed it down.
Seizing the moment, Xie Cen stepped back into the room, pulling Qin Yu with him. Qin Yu stumbled forward, then smoothly spun around to lock the door.
“Fuck!” Xie Cen leaned against the entryway wall, uncharacteristically cursing.
Qin Yu’s chest heaved as he gasped for air. Though silent, a wry thought crossed his mind:
Voyeurism is risky; venture out with caution.
They both felt like they’d committed some heinous act.
