Chapter 20: I Am Your Dog

After visiting the infirmary, Ning Guiqu’s legs were not in serious condition and only required some ointment. However, Ning Guiqu still felt dizzy and slightly hypoglycemic.

The doctor hooked Ning Guiqu up to an IV drip of glucose solution. Ning Guiqu sat obediently on the long bench in the infirmary, receiving the infusion.

After Lu Yuan finished paying the medical fees for Ning Guiqu, he had no intention of keeping him company and even planned to leave directly. As he approached Ning Guiqu, the latter naturally scooted aside, leaving an enormous space next to him. Ning Guiqu enthusiastically said, “Have a seat.”

Lu Yuan: “…….”

Lu Yuan realized that when Ning Guiqu chose to be thick-skinned, he truly was thick-skinned. Did Lu Yuan ever say he would stay?

The awkwardness from the previous night made it difficult for Lu Yuan to fall asleep. Now, Ning Guiqu was acting as if nothing had happened. He even called Lu Yuan an idiot that morning.

Seeing Ning Guiqu’s starry eyes, Lu Yuan couldn’t bring himself to abandon him. Besides, they weren’t the only ones in the infirmary. What if Ning Guiqu made a scene after he left?

Lu Yuan reluctantly sat down next to Ning Guiqu, who whispered, “I don’t think it’s hypoglycemia. I just didn’t eat breakfast. I probably don’t need this IV drip.”

Lu Yuan: “…….”

Was Ning Guiqu being thick-skinned to the point of wanting Lu Yuan to buy him food? Lu Yuan glanced at Ning Guiqu’s legs, then discreetly looked away. “What do you want for lunch?”

Ning Guiqu was stunned for a second, then quickly turned his head to explain, “I didn’t mean for you to buy me lunch. I just thought we could save money by not using this glucose drip.”

Lu Yuan ignored Ning Guiqu’s explanation and asked calmly, “So what do you want to eat? Stone pot bibimbap?”

After Lu Yuan mentioned it, Ning Guiqu realized he was actually quite hungry. But he didn’t like stone pot bibimbap. Still, how considerate of Lu Yuan! With just a casual comment, Lu Yuan figured out he was hungry.

Ning Guiqu said gratefully, “You’re so kind!”

Lu Yuan: “……..”

Seeing Lu Yuan’s strange expression, Ning Guiqu hurriedly ordered, “The fish fillet and chicken from Window Three, and some vegetables. I’ll transfer the money to you later!”

Lu Yuan said, “No need,” and left.

After Lu Yuan left, Ning Guiqu still felt touched. The love brain could grow again!

Liking Lu Yuan was so much better than liking the protagonist gong!

If he liked the protagonist gong, leaving aside his fate four years later, the protagonist gong already had a partner. Liking the protagonist gong and trying to get between them would clearly be immoral!

So, Ning Guiqu silently watered his love brain for Lu Yuan.

After watering for a while, half of the glucose drip was gone when Lu Yuan arrived, carrying fragrant food. How wonderful!

Lu Yuan was so kind!

Lu Yuan noticed the stars in Ning Guiqu’s eyes.

Was Ning Guiqu too easily pleased? He only bought some food.

If he helped feed him, wouldn’t Ning Guiqu be moved to tears? Despite these thoughts, Lu Yuan didn’t act beyond the bounds of their roommate relationship. He sat beside Ning Guiqu, opening the food containers, when he suddenly glanced at the distance between Ning Guiqu’s legs and mouth.

He then resealed the rice container and said coldly, to Ning Guiqu’s confusion, “You only have one free hand. Do you expect me to hold the food for you?”

Ning Guiqu didn’t detect Lu Yuan’s coldness. He wouldn’t dream of asking Lu Yuan to do such a thing! Lu Yuan had already been too kind to him!

“No, you can put it on my lap, or I can eat it later when we get back,” Ning Guiqu said, agreeable to anything.

Lu Yuan: “……”

It was like punching a cotton.

The IV drip was soon finished, and Ning Guiqu felt better, but his legs still hurt when he walked. Lu Yuan had no choice but to carry Ning Guiqu on his back again. This time, Lu Yuan even warned him, “Don’t think about anything inappropriate.”

Ning Guiqu held the food, resting on Lu Yuan’s shoulders, and blushed. Was Lu Yuan still talking about what happened last night?

Ning Guiqu had decided to pretend nothing had happened. As long as Lu Yuan didn’t mention it directly, he would act oblivious. So, Ning Guiqu innocently replied, “I’m not thinking about anything.”

Lu Yuan felt like he was punching a cotton again. Such a naive personality – even when he was being stern, Ning Guiqu dared to act cute.

But the next moment, Lu Yuan’s heart leapt.

Ning Guiqu said, “Actually, I did think about one thing.”

Lu Yuan’s steps faltered as he considered just dropping Ning Guiqu and leaving.

Ning Guiqu continued, “I have a great idea about developing your company.”

Lu Yuan’s anxious heart settled. He decided not to abandon the injured patient for now.

Lu Yuan couldn’t even be bothered to engage with this topic.

Ning Guiqu went on, “You could expand your company by acquiring your future competitors’ companies! I believe you have that ability, Lu Yuan. You will definitely own your own business empire!”

Ning Guiqu got excited as he spoke. As long as Lu Yuan could take over the protagonist gong’s company, he wouldn’t cause trouble there. Instead, he’d cause trouble in Lu Yuan’s company.

But Lu Yuan was single!

With Ning Guiqu watching over him these four years of university, Lu Yuan wouldn’t be able to change his single status.

So the tragedy that would befall him four years later definitely wouldn’t happen!

If the protagonist gong’s company was gone, so be it. The novel mentioned that the protagonist gong had businesses abroad, so it would be best for him to develop overseas. However, the protagonist gong’s lover would likely follow him abroad.

Would that adorable Yuan Yuan go abroad, too?

Ning Guiqu thought that if the protagonist gong’s lover went abroad, he’d have to fight for Yuan Yuan’s custody!

Ning Guiqu was extremely excited.

“Lu Yuan, I’ll use my meager abilities to help you!”

Lu Yuan’s expression remained unchanged, his emotions muted. He even asked, “Who are my competitors?”

The protagonist gong, Song Huai, of course!

Ning Guiqu obviously couldn’t reveal this.

Ning Guiqu nestled comfortably on Lu Yuan’s shoulder again, his face red as he whispered, “You don’t need to understand. Anyway, I’m now your… your…”

Ning Guiqu stuttered, struggling for a while before blurting out, “Dog?”

Lu Yuan: “…….”

A vein throbbed on Lu Yuan’s temple. “…Ning Guiqu, stop talking!”

Damn, his heart was actually racing!

On Lu Yuan’s back, Ning Guiqu couldn’t sense Lu Yuan’s abnormal state. He continued mumbling, “I just wanted to say that I’m now completely devoted to you.”

Lu Yuan wanted to berate Ning Guiqu to “shut up,” but feared he might cry.

“Stop talking, Ning Guiqu.”

Clearly, this command had no effect.

Ning Guiqu continued, “I’m not even allowed to speak? Lu Yuan, you’re so domineering. Fine, I’ll stop.”

Lu Yuan: “……”

Lu Yuan halted his steps and tilted his head slightly. Ning Guiqu, who was perched on his shoulder, curved his eyes in response to Lu Yuan’s gaze. Lu Yuan deliberately ignored the exceptionally cheerful Ning Guiqu and averted his gaze. Ning Guiqu felt confused for a moment, but in the next second, a sharp pain shot through his calf.

“Ouch!”

Lu Yuan had viciously pinched his calf!

Damn, petty!

Ning Guiqu became honest.

After returning to the dorm, Ning Guiqu sat on the lower bunk eating. As Lu Yuan prepared to rest on his bed, Ning Guiqu, who had finished eating and was now playing with his phone, called out to him.

Lu Yuan looked down, glanced at Ning Guiqu’s legs, and immediately understood. “Can’t get up?”

Ning Guiqu’s face reddened again as he nodded.

“Could you help push me up?”

Lu Yuan naturally… pushed him. He supported Ning Guiqu back to his bed, stuffed him into the quilt, and made sure he was well-covered. After all this, Lu Yuan was about to leave when Ning Guiqu grabbed his hand, eyes sincere. “Could you stay with me for a while?”

Lu Yuan: ??

Lu Yuan immediately pulled his hand away.

His voice turned cold. “Do you know what you’re saying?”

Ning Guiqu tucked his arms under the covers and said softly, “I do. My legs hurt when I move, so I want to sleep. But I can’t fall asleep. If you stay beside me, I’ll feel safe. I’ll be able to sleep, and when I’m asleep, my legs won’t hurt.”

Lu Yuan’s dark eyes stared intently at him.

Ning Guiqu didn’t really expect Lu Yuan to agree.

He asked this just to see if he could nurture his romantic feelings a bit more. If Lu Yuan agreed, his love brain would sprout immediately! If not, there was no loss. After all, it was a bit too much to ask.

Ning Guiqu was clear about this in his mind.

He nervously waited for a few seconds.

Lu Yuan looked away, lifted Ning Guiqu’s covers, and without getting in, leaned against the side. He said softly, “Sleep.”

Ning Guiqu almost burst into tears!

It was sprouting! Sprouting! Growing!
