“Weiyun, wake up! We have class today!”
“No, I’m not going.” Mu Weiyun impatiently pushed away Shen Qingyan’s hand. “It’s all your fault. I had such a beautiful dream all night about God Gu Yunjue. Then I woke up and it wasn’t real. I can’t talk about this anymore, I’m going to cry. Just let me cry in my dreams.”
Shen Qingyan couldn’t help but laugh, “Is it really worth all that? Why don’t you try confessing? But a senior hitting on a junior, you’d probably be laughed to death.”
“Get out, get out, get out!” Mu Weiyun sat up with a face full of morning grumpiness, his hair a complete mess. “That god is obviously straight. Am I crazy enough to bang my head against that wall? Just let me dream about it occasionally, don’t tempt me.”
Shen Qingyan clicked his tongue. “Then go back to sleep. They probably won’t take attendance today.”
After leaving his crazy roommate in the dorm, Shen Qingyan headed to the cafeteria.
Actually, he understood Mu Weiyun’s infatuation. With those looks and that body, Gu Yunjue was their circle’s ultimate dish.
But they could only look and not touch. The guy was obviously straight.
Falling for straight guys was every gay man’s curse.
Shen Qingyan shook his head, silently mourning his roommate’s short-lived crush for a few seconds.
But soon after, he ran into the ultimate dish Gu Yunjue himself.
The other man cornered him in an empty stairwell, his tall figure making Shen Qingyan’s mind wander.
What was going on? Was this a dream?
“Hello, senior, I’m Gu Yunjue.”
Shen Qingyan blinked, still not understanding what was happening.
The first semester had just started, and unlike the older students who had already been taking classes for two weeks, the freshmen didn’t have much to do. After all, their military training was in winter, and during this time they just had to attend various random classes.
So, was Gu Yunjue skipping class?
Just a freshman and already mastering the essence of college life: skipping classes.
Shen Qingyan was impressed. As expected of the man they had their eyes on.
“Senior, what are you thinking about?”
Noticing that Shen Qingyan was actually spacing out while looking at him, Gu Yunjue’s heart sank.
Li Xun was right. Shen Qingyan was definitely straight. His gaze was not only frank but he even spaced out!
“Sorry, Junior,” Shen Qingyan couldn’t help backing up several steps until his whole body was pressed against the wall. “Do we know each other?”
This wasn’t right. Shen Qingyan’s mind raced. Could Gu Yunjue have seen his thirsty comments on the forum?
But even if that were the case, he shouldn’t be targeting him. After all, he’d been relatively reserved. There were way more outrageous comments on there!
Getting cornered in the stairwell by the hot junior on the second day of school for revenge?
Shen Qingyan felt like crying.
“I know you’re Shen Qingyan. I saw you on the street yesterday.” Gu Yunjue thought Shen Qingyan must have guessed his intentions, why else would he have that expression?
Shen Qingyan’s legs felt weak. “Junior, what do you want?”
“Take out your phone,” Gu Yunjue’s face darkened. “Let’s exchange contact info.”
Shen Qingyan: “Huh?”
Although confused, Shen Qingyan took out his phone. What was happening?
After adding each other on WeChat, Gu Yunjue nodded with satisfaction. “I’m Gu Yunjue, 18 years old, freshman at the College of Physical Education. I’m quite interested in you. It doesn’t matter if you’re unwilling, I don’t care. Senior, if you want to have a peaceful time at school, I hope you’ll be obedient. I’ve saved my phone number in there too. When I call you, you can’t refuse.”
What… what was all this about?
Shen Qingyan felt like Gu Yunjue was playing some new kind of game.
“But,” Shen Qingyan hesitated, “we just met.”
Gu Yunjue pinched Shen Qingyan’s cheek. “Isn’t meeting now good enough?”
The touch felt too good. Gu Yunjue didn’t want to let go.
Shen Qingyan’s heart was about to jump out of his chest. A tiny voice in his mind was screaming: Oh my god! The new campus god Gu Yunjue fell for me at first sight and is confessing to me!
“I… I need to think about it.” Shen Qingyan swallowed, his gaze wandering. He didn’t dare look at Gu Yunjue’s face. What if he got overwhelmed by lust and lost control?
Gu Yunjue’s voice deepened, “I’m not giving you a chance to refuse, Shen Qingyan. If you want to graduate smoothly, think about it carefully.”
Shen Qingyan: “…Oh.”
Was he being forced into a relationship? Shen Qingyan never expected Mr. Perfect to have this kind of kink.
“Then, I’ll think about it carefully.” Shen Qingyan carefully asked, “So, Junior, could you let go of my face? You’re gripping a bit too hard.”
God Gu was flirting with him by caressing his face while playing the domineering CEO role. How… how exciting!
Gu Yunjue didn’t want to let go, so Shen Qingyan couldn’t help but grasp his hand.
“What are you doing! Who said you could touch my hand!” Gu Yunjue pulled away in shock, his face reddening. “Shen Qingyan, I’ve said what I needed to say. I hope you’ll think it over carefully!”
With that, Shen Qingyan watched his junior stumble away with red ears.
“How innocent,” Shen Qingyan stroked his chin. “If I come on too strong, would I scare him off?”
Meanwhile, Gu Yunjue, red-faced and with a dark look in his eyes, pulled out his phone and called Li Xun. “Li Xun, I’ve talked to Shen Qingyan.”
Li Xun’s breathing grew heavier before he said lightly, “Oh? How did he react? Did he refuse? Yunjue, to strike where it hurts most, you should—”
“He said he’d think about it carefully,” Gu Yunjue cut Li Xun off. “I plan to give him one night.”
Li Xun let out a muffled laugh. “Yunjue, that’s just like you.”
“What do you mean?” Gu Yunjue said unhappily. “Wasn’t this your idea?”
Li Xun drawled lazily, “Yeah, it’s the best way. If he doesn’t cooperate, we can always find someone else.”
Gu Yunjue fell silent. He hadn’t even settled things with this one, why talk about finding another?
“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Li Xun asked, puzzled. “Yunjue, you haven’t fallen for him, have you?”
Gu Yunjue finally spoke, “I find him very interesting.”
If you called it love, that might be going too far.
Li Xun dropped the subject and said a few routine words of concern.
Meanwhile, as soon as Shen Qingyan returned to his dorm, he couldn’t resist picking up Mu Weiyun and spinning him around, exhausting them both.
Mu Weiyun scrambled down from Shen Qingyan in horror, cursing, “Son, if you’re sick, take your medicine! Why are you hugging me as soon as you get back? Are you trying to show filial piety to your dad?”
Shen Qingyan finally put down Mu Weiyun, who was half a head shorter than him, and insisted, “Dad, you’re getting a son-in-law.”
“Good son, you finally acknowledge me as your dad, I knew…” Mu Weiyun’s delighted expression suddenly changed. “Wait, what? You’re dating someone?”
Mu Weiyun said in disbelief, “How is this possible? Where did you even find someone? Don’t tell me you got scammed in an online relationship? Listen here, Shen Qingyan, online dating isn’t reliable!”
“What nonsense,” Shen Qingyan clicked his tongue and leaned against the wardrobe. “He fell in love with me at first sight. Right after class at noon today, he came to confess to me.”
Mu Weiyun gaped. “Damn, this is straight out of a drama!”
After the initial shock, Mu Weiyun wiggled his eyebrows and started gossiping, “Who is it? Do I know them? Is it that glasses-wearing genius from Computer Science? Or that benchwarmer from the basketball club? Don’t tell me it’s that crossdresser from the anime club! You two would clash!”
“No, no, no,” Shen Qingyan waved his hand in disgust. “It’s none of them. But you do know him. It’s Gu Yunjue.”
Mu Weiyun’s expression went blank. “Gu what? Gu Yunjue!!!”
His piercing voice made Shen Qingyan’s face darken as he rushed forward to cover Mu Weiyun’s mouth, grinding his teeth and growling, “What are you freaking out about?”
Mu Weiyun, wide-eyed and terrified, struggled to turn his head and looked at Shen Qingyan with fear.
Shen Qingyan felt creeped out by that look and couldn’t help but release his hold. “What’s with that expression?”
Mu Weiyun trembled as he felt Shen Qingyan’s forehead, muttering, “No fever… so why have you lost your mind?”
“What are you doing?” Shen Qingyan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Am I that bad? What’s wrong with Gu Yunjue falling for me at first sight and confessing?”
Mu Weiyun’s mind was still in a fog. Who could understand? The straight guy in his fantasy was about to become his roommate’s boyfriend.
“Qingyan,” Mu Weiyun swallowed, “so he’s not straight, huh.”
Shen Qingyan replied casually, “His personality is pretty weird, so it’s normal we couldn’t tell.”
“Did you accept?” Mu Weiyun’s eyes sparkled. “When are you bringing him over to meet me?”
Shen Qingyan smiled primly, “I told him I’d think about it.”
Mu Weiyun was speechless for a moment before chuckling, “Playing hard to get, huh, Xiao Yan? Don’t you like him? But we’re third years and he’s just a freshman.”
“That’s why I said I needed to think about it,” Shen Qingyan nodded smugly. “After all, I do have quite a few admirers.”
Mu Weiyun’s face darkened, “Oh, come on, don’t get cocky. Gu Yunjue became the new campus heartthrob within half an hour of stepping onto campus. His photos were all over the forum. How can your admirers compare to him!”
“Well, what can I say? I’m just that charming,” Shen Qingyan said, clearly enjoying himself. “But, uh, Gu Yunjue is pretty charming too.”
Mu Weiyun made a sound of disgust. “Give it up already. What’s there to think about? You fell for him at first sight too, didn’t you? Stop hesitating. What if he changes his mind?”
Shen Qingyan rolled his eyes, “You’re just jealous!”
“Obviously,” Mu Weiyun pinched Shen Qingyan’s face. “Quick, trade faces with me! I want a campus heartthrob to fall for me at first sight too!”
Mu Weiyun’s antics made Shen Qingyan laugh. “Stop messing around. The reason I said I needed to think about it isn’t what you think.”
Under Mu Weiyun’s curious gaze, Shen Qingyan hesitated before saying, “I think there’s something… off about Gu Yunjue.”
