Little Mushroom: ???
Little Mushroom: !!!
Little Mushroom slowly turned his head.
Jiang Songshi raised a glass, smiling at Mushroom from a distance, neither near nor far.
Little Mushroom’s eyes widened suddenly.
Oh…sh*t.
Little Mushroom hurriedly turned back, instantly straightening his crossed legs.
But wait, wasn’t Jiang Songshi working overtime?
Didn’t Jiang Songshi usually come home around three or four in the morning?
Would Jiang Songshi recognize him? No, Jiang Songshi had already recognized him… Little Mushroom felt a bit guilty for some reason.
Although Little Mushroom didn’t know why he felt guilty, he was clearly a hardworking little mushroom, but thinking about the “good night” on his phone and that obedient “I fell asleep”…
Mushroom: Ahhhhh.
Mushroom: I want to bury myself back in the mushroom pit.
“Ding dong!”
The phone’s notification sound rang out in the noisy bar, which should have been difficult to notice, but it burrowed right into Little Mushroom’s ear.
The phone screen lit up, and Little Mushroom didn’t really want to look.
[Shi: Why are you hiding?]
[Shi: Won’t you come over and have a toast?]
[Shi: Fell asleep again?]
Little Mushroom: …
[Little Mushroom: Do you want to drink Jägermeister too?]
As Little Mushroom was looking down at his phone, a strange man suddenly sat down beside him.
Little Mushroom instinctively tried to move away, but unexpectedly, the man kept leaning closer.
Little Mushroom’s brow furrowed slightly, and he picked up his Jägermeister, intending to leave. Little Mushroom had been focused on his phone, thinking about how to reply to Jiang Songshi’s messages, so he naturally didn’t notice that when he lowered his head to look at his phone, a white pill rolled from the strange man’s fingers into the Jägermeister Little Mushroom had just ordered.1Don’t copy Little Mushroom, always be vigilant with your drinks wherever you are. The white pill quickly dissolved, and by the time Little Mushroom picked up the glass, there was no trace of the white pill.
However, all of this fell under Jiang Songshi’s watchful gaze.
Little Mushroom changed his position, moving closer to the wall, thinking the strange man wouldn’t follow him, but shortly after sitting down, that man appeared beside Little Mushroom again.
“May I sit here?” the man spoke first.
Little Mushroom looked up but didn’t say a word.
“I see you’re alone too. Why don’t we chat and get to know each other?” The strange man extended his hand, about to place it on Little Mushroom’s shoulder.
Little Mushroom frowned, wondering how much force he should use to snap the man’s wrist – not too much, or it would be difficult to handle the aftermath.
The Mushroom Survival Guide said to coexist harmoniously with humans. Of course, these rules were optional for Little Mushroom; he was just worried about causing trouble for the stupid human looking after him.
“He doesn’t want to know you.” Before Little Mushroom could act, Jiang Songshi walked straight over.
Jiang Songshi still wore the black shirt he had on at the research institute this morning, contrasting with Little Mushroom’s white. The sleeves were rolled up, revealing his strong arms.
Jiang Songshi picked up the Jägermeister, looking at the man whose face had turned pale. “Playing dirty?”
Jiang Songshi’s expression was so grim that it seemed like a storm was about to break loose. His voice was low but carried a heavy pressure like an impending downpour.
The man who tried to pick up Little Mushroom cursed a few times, but his voice gradually softened under Jiang Songshi’s intimidating gaze until he spat and left.
After the man left, they were completely “isolated” from the outside world.
After a minute or two of silence, Little Mushroom spoke first.
Little Mushroom cautiously asked, “Is the stupid human angry?”
Little Mushroom: Stupid ##… angry #?
Jiang Songshi didn’t answer, staring at Little Mushroom as if trying to see through him.
Little Mushroom lowered his head.
The glass knocked against the table with a crisp sound. The liquid rippled, spilling and refracting the changing bar lights. As the next song started, Jiang Songshi grabbed Little Mushroom’s wrist.
Jiang Songshi gripped hard, making Little Mushroom’s wrist ache.
Little Mushroom: “Ow.”
Jiang Songshi ignored him, dragging Little Mushroom out in large strides.
Little Mushroom’s wrist really hurt, and he couldn’t keep up with Jiang Songshi’s pace. As they walked, Little Mushroom accidentally hit his leg on a bar stool, causing him to hiss in pain.
Little Mushroom’s eyes reddened. “Jiang Songshi, that really hurt.”
He was just a mushroom, a plant. Even fruits get injured from minor bumps, let alone a delicate little mushroom like him.
He was afraid of pain and was sensitive. Any knocks or bumps would surely leave bruises the next day.
Moreover…the stupid human had never pulled him this forcefully before.
But Mushroom couldn’t speak the human language, so even with a heart full of sadness, all he could say were scattered words: “##…Shi, ##@…hurt.”
Jiang Songshi, I’m hurt.
Jiang Songshi clearly heard and paused.
