13: Like Mushroom

At the bar.

Little Mushroom was led by Jiang Songshi, obediently and quietly following behind him.

Jiang Songshi ordered a sparkling wine for Little Mushroom. Little Mushroom blinked repeatedly, his gaze fixed unmoving on the Bloody Mary ordered by someone else next to him.

Little Mushroom: Want to drink that one.

Little Mushroom: “Want… that… one…”

Jiang Songshi turned Little Mushroom’s face back: “No, you don’t want that.”

Ten minutes ago, Jiang Songshi had finally succumbed to Little Mushroom’s “like” onslaught. Jiang Songshi glanced at the clock hanging on the wall near the TV cabinet in the rest area. The clock hands had made another full rotation, indicating he and Little Mushroom had been in the rest area for an hour.

Little Mushroom was dazed from the kissing, and his body had softened somewhat. Jiang Songshi supported Little Mushroom’s waist, pulling the young man into his embrace.

Before Jiang Songshi could speak, Little Mushroom recovered a bit, then turned to Jiang Songshi as if remembering something: “Shi… likes… Mushroom?”

Little Mushroom was confirming, the young man’s index finger pointing at the stupid human’s heart: “Likes?”

Jiang Songshi held Little Mushroom’s fingers, leaving a kiss between them: “Like.”

“I like Little Mushroom.”

“I like Mushroom Overlord.”

Jiang Songshi said it many times.

Little Mushroom was delighted. The tiny mushroom on his head perked up, swaying with his movements.

Little Mushroom: “Mushroom… also… likes!”

Little Mushroom also likes! Little Mushroom seriously told Jiang Songshi, and for fear Jiang Songshi wouldn’t understand, drew a huge heart on his own chest.

Seeing Little Mushroom gesturing seriously with a stern face, Jiang Songshi felt a desire to tease him.

Jiang Songshi: “Little Mushroom also likes?”

“Who does Little Mushroom like?”

“How come I can’t understand?”

Little Mushroom thought for a bit: “Mushroom… likes… stupid!”

Little Mushroom likes the stupid human!

But this stupid human is really stupid, unable to understand even this. To avoid Jiang Songshi misunderstanding his words again by asking who the “stupid human” was, Little Mushroom repeated and firmly pointed at Jiang Songshi to explain: “You!… are… the stupid!”

Jiang Songshi: ……

Jiang Songshi: Some questions are better left unasked.

Little Mushroom was truly happy, sticking close to Jiang Songshi every few seconds. Sometimes light pecks, sometimes nuzzling Jiang Songshi’s chin with his cheek, like a little cat.

In fact, this was something Little Mushroom had learned from observing the neighbor’s plump ginger cat.

The plump ginger cat got along well with humans. Aside from acting like the master in front of Jiang Songshi, it was very affectionate with its own owner.

The plump ginger cat’s owner was Jiang Songshi’s next-door neighbor, and after Little Mushroom moved in, that person became Little Mushroom’s neighbor too.

It’s just that Little Mushroom rarely went out, so the neighbor didn’t know Little Mushroom.

But Little Mushroom knew the neighbor.

The neighbor was a freelancer, and as long as the plump ginger cat was home, the neighbor would keep it company. The plump ginger cat was good at acting spoiled, too. It would nuzzle its head against the neighbor, who would then seem very happy and pick up the plump cat to play with for a long time.

Little Mushroom wanted the stupid human to play with him for a long time too, and wanted Jiang Songshi to be happy every single moment, so he taught himself how to nuzzle and act spoiled.

Jiang Songshi’s mood did indeed improve a lot. After sitting together for a while, Jiang Songshi led Little Mushroom out by the hand.

At the bar.

Little Mushroom and Jiang Songshi were at an impasse.

Little Mushroom: “Mushroom… wants!”

Jiang Songshi repeated: “You don’t want that.”

“Don’t want what?”

Just then, Jiang Songshi’s friend came over.

“Hey,” the friend smiled goofily, eyes landing on Little Mushroom. “Can we get to know each other?”

Jiang Songshi: ……

Oops, he almost forgot about this friend.
