Chapter 05: The Unruly Fox

TLN: 撒泼 (sā pō) – to make an unreasonable scene; 狐狸 (hú li) – fox / fig. sly and treacherous person

Ying Huaiting directly took the perverted Hu Hu, who had been acting shamelessly in public, back to their dorm. Along the way, Hu Hu was utterly dejected and didn’t say a word. His feeding plan had failed again!

Back in the dorm room, Hu Hu flopped straight onto the bed without washing up and started throwing a tantrum.

“Why why why won’t you let me feed? Ying Huaiting, shouldn’t humans help each other? How can you bear to see your human roommate so sad?”

Ying Huaiting had already regained his usual composure. “Humans help each other, but you’re a pervert.”

Hu Hu felt terribly wronged. Couldn’t a fox and a human help each other out? Besides, he was currently disguised perfectly as a human! Hu Hu crawled up from the bed again and called out to Ying Huaiting.

Ying Huaiting, who was about to go get water, stopped in his tracks.

Hu Hu said seriously, “I’m not a pervert, Ying Huaiting, I’m really proper.”

Ying Huaiting only asked one question, “What do you want to do right now?”

Hu Hu: “I want to feed.”

Ying Huaiting: “…..”

Seeing Ying Huaiting’s blatant look of speechlessness, Hu Hu broke down, “But I’m being honest! I didn’t lie, what’s wrong with wanting to feed? You’re the one who asked me how I feed, so I tried to demonstrate, but then you just grabbed my hand and wouldn’t let me take off your pants. How can I demonstrate without taking off your pants? I didn’t even do anything and you called me a pervert. Besides, you smell so good and keep wandering around in front of me. That’s your fault too!”

The more Hu Hu spoke, the more justified he felt, “If you didn’t keep wandering around in front of me, I wouldn’t know you smell good, and then how would I want to feed? So- so it’s not my fault.”

It was the human who had seduced him!

Ying Huaiting walked up to Hu Hu, bent down, and stared at his face, pondering for a moment before saying, “You don’t even blush. Are you saying the victim is to blame?”

Hu Hu’s lips quivered, and he pretended he was about to cry.

Ying Huaiting: “…..”

Ying Huaiting sat directly on the edge of Hu Hu’s bed. This was his first time encountering such a pervert. He waited as Hu Hu struggled to squeeze out nonexistent tears, then thought for a moment before asking, “Is this your first time doing this?”

Hu Hu stopped his act and answered, “Doing what? Accusing you of seducing me? Yeah, that’s my first time.”

A vein throbbed at Ying Huaiting’s temple. This fox knew he was in the wrong!

“I’m talking about crawling into other people’s beds at night, trying to take off people’s pants outside classrooms, and sniffing people whenever you catch them, then threatening to cry when they won’t let you! Is this your first time?”

Hu Hu tilted his head, looking even more wronged, “Don’t make me sound so perverted. I wasn’t even crying. Besides, this isn’t my fault. Why don’t I do this to others, only to you? Ying Huaiting, you need to reflect on yourself too.”

Ying Huaiting was exasperated, but it was indeed the first time.

Since that was the case, Ying Huaiting said, “Stop doing this. If you pursue me normally, I might agree.”

Hu Hu was confused, “What pursuit? I just like your scent! I want to eat!”

Eat…

Ying Huaiting’s voice turned colder. “So, you want to go straight to home base? You’re only interested in my body? That’s impossible. I won’t do such dirty things with you. If you want to get intimate with me, the first step is to pursue me normally. After we start dating, then you can make more excessive requests, like wanting to sniff my neck.”

“I want to sniff inside your pants,” Hu Hu corrected.

Ying Huaiting: “…That still has to wait until we’re dating.”

Hu Hu finally got on the same wavelength as Ying Huaiting and asked suspiciously, “So after we date, I can sniff inside your pants?”

Ying Huaiting stared at him expressionlessly while Hu Hu anxiously waited for his answer.

Ying Huaiting couldn’t help but ask, “You’ve really only said these things to me? Or let me be more direct, are you still a virgin?”

Hu Hu frowned, “Both are true. Why wouldn’t I be a virgin? Ying Huaiting, why are you asking such impolite questions?”

Ying Huaiting didn’t think he was being impolite at all, “You should think about why I’m asking you these questions. And no, even after dating, you can’t. We have to take things step by step, starting with holding hands.”

Hu Hu let out an “Ah” and collapsed on the bed, feeling even more wronged, “That’s too troublesome! I can’t even do it after dating!”

Ying Huaiting said coldly, “Without dating, you’ll never have a chance.”

Hu Hu sat up immediately, “Then let’s date! Will you date me?”

Ying Huaiting: “No.”

Hu Hu frowned, “Why?”

Ying Huaiting: “Because we know too little about each other. If we dated now, you’d just be dating me for my looks, right?”

“No, I’m after your yang essence! It smells so good!”

Ying Huaiting sneered, “Sure enough, you’re after what’s in my pants. Hu Hu, you’re even more vulgar than I thought.”

Hu Hu felt really wronged, “I’m really, really proper!” He had only started smelling humans’ yang essence after coming of age, and so far he’d only smelled Ying Huaiting’s.

He was a proper fox spirit!

Ying Huaiting would be a fool to believe him. He stood up and said, “I’ve said what’s needed to be said. Think carefully about how you want to pursue me.”

Hu Hu started to think.

In the dead of night, Hu Hu suddenly came to his senses. He just wanted to feed on some yang essence, so why did he have to pursue and date a human?

Although he was a supernatural being, he knew about dating. Supernatural creatures had to fall in love and get married too. This involved matters of the heart! If he pursued Ying Huaiting just to feed on his yang essence, got his fill after succeeding, and then abandoned him – that would make him a real scumbag.

So why did Ying Huaiting insist he had to be pursued before letting Hu Hu smell him?

If smelling inside his pants was too embarrassing, what about his neck? Surely smelling his neck wouldn’t be a problem? His dog friend would let him check if he stank even after not bathing for days, and he wasn’t dating his dog friend.

“Ying Huaiting?” In the quiet of night, Hu Hu called out.

Ying Huaiting wasn’t asleep yet and responded with a sound.

Hu Hu: “I won’t smell inside your pants anymore, just your neck. Without pursuing you, is that okay?”

“Then stay away from me.” Ying Huaiting’s cold voice hit Hu Hu like a bolt from the blue.

Hu Hu was distressed. What should he do now!
