It was already noon when Bai Yucheng woke up due to hunger. His body ached, and there was a dull pain in his back. He whimpered softly as he sat up in bed.
“Eat something first,” came Song Yan’s voice as he entered with a bowl of seafood porridge.
Too weak to argue, Bai Yucheng simply nodded.
“Wait, drink some warm water first. Otherwise, your throat will be uncomfortable,” Song Yan handed him a glass of water, clearly not allowing him to hold it himself. Bai Yucheng had no choice but to obediently drink.
Song Yan was delighted. He fed him the seafood porridge as if he was taking care of a child and asked him various questions—how it tasted, if it was too salty, whether he liked it.
It was so annoying. Bai Yucheng wasn’t accustomed to such thorough care and found Song Yan’s tender expression quite unsightly.
“How… are things at the store?” Bai Yucheng asked awkwardly.
Song Yan, however, showed no discomfort. He smiled and replied, “Lu Qi and the others took care of everything early this morning. There was just a minor issue. Oh, and remember that employee whose hand-drawn map you found interesting during our last store inspection? I’ve already arranged for her to come to the company for our promotional team.”
“I see.”
“After you mentioned it, I paid attention. Indeed, some people who are into journaling like to collect creative cultural products. This could help promote our brand.”
Discussing work seemed to put Bai Yucheng at ease. He nodded, “We could also use some of the leftover mineral fragments as small gifts for those who help promote us. I’ve noticed some people are interested in raw stones.”
Song Yan loved how Bai Yucheng looked when he was deep in thought. He smiled, “We have to thank you for that suggestion. We hadn’t considered that aspect before.”
“That’s because all our stores are in high-end areas.”
“Well, we did start with diamonds and jade. Lu Qi and her team calculated that if the foot traffic isn’t high enough and the consumer base isn’t right, we wouldn’t even break even.”
Hearing this, Bai Yucheng just smiled lightly, “That couldn’t be helped. When you wanted to establish the business quickly, you couldn’t consider every detail. But now that the company is running smoothly with stable performance, introducing some creative cultural products could attract more people to our other two stores in the shopping plaza.”
“You’re right.”
“Didn’t you want everyone to know the charm of gems? Since you even want students to own them, you must have considered lower-priced raw stones. But now that everyone knows you’re the young master of the Song family, many ordinary people feel intimidated.”
Song Yan was overjoyed. Bai Yucheng truly understood him and offered many useful suggestions. “Thank you, Assistant Bai.”
“Stop saying that…” Bai Yucheng’s face flushed slightly, his heart rate increasing. It was strange to see Song Yan’s usual stern face now grinning.
“By the way, I’ve arranged some time off for you. Rest for a few days before returning to work. However, I’ll need you to help me organize some documents,” he handed Bai Yucheng his outer clothes, “You can work from home.”
Taking the clothes, Bai Yucheng asked softly, “What about you?”
“I’m going to the company the day after tomorrow to finalize the hand-drawn map project.” Song Yan glanced at his phone, “Also, I contacted your doctor. He said your differentiation happened too late, and we shouldn’t be intimate too frequently. It might make you uncomfortable.”
“You…!” Bai Yucheng’s face turned bright red, a mix of embarrassment and mortification.
“I’m sorry, your mother told me everything,” Song Yan said gently. “I was wrong to doubt you. I thought you were deliberately hiding your gender…”
“…”
“I’ve also told our parents about us.”
“Song Yan! Are you out of your mind?” He was furious. “I didn’t say anything!”
“Ah… but our parents agreed…” Suddenly, Song Yan looked at Bai Yucheng with puppy dog eyes, like a dejected little dog. “I also told them I’m pursuing you with the intention of marriage.”
“You!” Bai Yucheng’s face turned bright red with agitation. He didn’t know how to react! They’d only been here for such a short time, and now marriage?! What marriage?! “I don’t want to marry you!”
To Song Yan, this reaction seemed merely like embarrassed anger. Bai Yucheng wasn’t entirely indifferent to him, probably just panicking at the sudden mention of marriage. This was all within his expectations. He held Bai Yucheng’s hand, looking at him sincerely, “But yesterday, you agreed to give me a chance to take responsibility.”
“I did not!”
“You did…” Still giving him that pitiful puppy look, “You were just… too excited to remember.”
“I… anyway, I don’t want to now! Go away!”
If he weren’t so weak right now, he would have jumped up. Song Yan was secretly delighted as he leaned in to kiss Bai Yucheng’s cheek, saying softly, “Don’t be angry. You’ve always cooked delicious meals for me. I’ll learn to do the same for you from now on.”
Then, he didn’t give Bai Yucheng a chance to speak, gently silencing him with a kiss—he certainly didn’t want Bai Yucheng to continue refusing at this moment.
After their two intimate encounters, Song Yan had memorized all of Bai Yucheng’s sensitive spots. With tender yet passionate kisses, and his hands massaging Bai Yucheng’s waist, it was easy to push him down and conquer him.
In less than three minutes, Bai Yucheng was lying on the bed, helpless as a fish, letting Song Yan caress and entangle him.
“Mmm… ah~!”
“By the way… your pheromones,” Song Yan gently pulled away a bit, asking curiously, “Why are they fresher than bamboo?”
He whimpered softly, looking at Song Yan with a slightly aggrieved expression, “It’s… like bamboo leaves… after rain.”
“I love it.”
“Mmm, yours… is nice too, without the… sourness of lemon, just the fragrance…”
Song Yan didn’t expect him to say that. Happily tightening his arms, he hugged him closer, “Then, can we… try dating from now on?”
“No… I don’t want to…”
Although Bai Yucheng said this, his heart was racing, almost leaping into Song Yan’s chest—it seemed he was just being stubborn.
“Then, I’ll pursue you first, and we’ll date later.”
The person in his arms remained silent, with only the sound of heartbeats between them—thump, thump, thump.
Passionate, yet tender.
