Chapter 13: Two Babies?!

“Congratulations, it’s twins!”

Song Yan and Bai Yucheng looked at each other, then at the ultrasound image. The doctor beside them was beaming as she pointed at the screen. “Look here, it’s definitely twins. Congratulations! Twins are quite rare these days. However, due to Mr. Bai’s condition, he might struggle to carry them past six or seven months. It would be best to start external cultivation early.”

“External…” Bai Yucheng was still dazed, realizing there were two little babies in his belly.

Song Yan was overjoyed, instinctively feeling they must be two daughters! “I understand. Thank you, doctor.”

“Mr. Bai will need regular check-ups,” she said, handing Song Yan a booklet on external cultivation.

As they left the examination room, Song Yan embraced Bai Yucheng. “This is wonderful! Twins! We’ll need to get so many things. I’ll tell our parents later; they’ll be thrilled!”

“Mm…”

“What’s wrong?” Song Yan noticed Bai Yucheng’s dazed expression. “Don’t you like the idea of twins?”

“It’s not that…” He touched his belly. “Can this… really fit two?”

Amused by his adorable question, Song Yan took his hand. “Mrs. Song, I’ll give you a thorough lesson when we get home.”

“I wasn’t an Omega before, so I never really learned about all this…” Bai Yucheng said, embarrassed.

When their families heard the news, their excitement was palpable over the phone. By the time they returned home, Bai Li and Lin Mei had arrived, and Song Yan’s grandparents were coming for dinner.

However, Bai Yucheng noticed a message from the hospital to Song Yan.

“Pregnancy services,” he read, puzzled. He asked Song Yan what it meant.

Song Yan explained seriously, “It’s a special service for Alphas. Since Omegas don’t usually use suppressants during pregnancy, and everyone’s body is different, it can sometimes affect the Alpha. So hospitals generally recommend pregnancy intimacy services for Alphas.”

“I see.”

“You’ll be affected too, but I’ll be the one servicing you then.”

Bai Yucheng glared at him. “You don’t sound like Boss Yan at all right now.”

“Work is work. At home, with you, why should I? Besides, I’ve asked Dad and Grandpa for a lot of advice.”

“Advice on what?”

He smiled, taking Bai Yucheng’s hand. “How to coax someone. I’ve never had to do that before.”

“I don’t believe you… Alphas never lack for attention.”

Although he was unfamiliar with that circle, Bai Yucheng received some special treatment due to his parents’ genders. In university, Alphas could choose Omegas they liked to live with in their dorms. He was even invited before, but he hadn’t differentiated then—not knowing he still could—and he didn’t like that rule much.

Song Yan became serious again. Looking into Bai Yucheng’s eyes, he confessed honestly, “It’s true. In school, I received many special invitations because of my parents. But I felt it wasn’t fair to Omegas, so I always took care of things myself. After graduation, I was busy with work. You’re the first person who made me want to be in a relationship. Being with you isn’t just instinct; I’ve studied a lot in private.”

“Let’s not talk about this…”

Although Bai Yucheng didn’t say it, he felt a bit uneasy. He didn’t expect the hospital to recommend such services to Song Yan. He knew he couldn’t be intimate with Song Yan during this time and wondered if Song Yan would accept the offer.

“Yucheng, I only want you. Don’t worry,” Song Yan seemed to read his mind. “I’ve said before, I’ll be responsible for you. Besides, our family is known for being devoted.”

“What devotion? Nonsense.” Bai Yucheng turned away, blushing.

“I’ll tell you about my parents someday. Mom still loves telling me their story.” Song Yan held him close. “In the future, I’ll tell our babies our story too.”

“Silly… so improper…”

Bai Yucheng felt very comforted when Song Yan held him like this.

In the following days, Song Yan really accompanied Bai Yucheng every day, handling company matters from home. Even when he went to the office, he returned quickly.

By the fifth month, Bai Yucheng’s belly was larger than usual, making walking difficult. Following his aunt’s advice, they prepared for external cultivation. With twins, carrying to term would be very hard on Bai Yucheng.

Though Omegas had good recovery during this time, the process wasn’t easy, especially with two.

Seeing Bai Yucheng’s poor color, Song Yan gently comforted him, “Just two more weeks, and the simulated incubator will be ready.”

He nodded, “Mm, okay…”

“The doctor said your chest might feel swollen, and you’ll start producing milk, so we need to monitor that,” Song Yan handed him a cushion. “Tell me if you’re uncomfortable.”

“Mm.”

Lately, Bai Yucheng had been lethargic, hardly speaking. At first, Song Yan was just happy about having children with Bai Yucheng, but seeing him so unwell now made Song Yan feel he’d been inconsiderate.

He never struggled with work decisions like this.

He decided to be more careful and not let Bai Yucheng get pregnant again. This process was really torturous.

He stroked Bai Yucheng’s hair tenderly, noticing he seemed thinner. All the nutrients must be going to the babies.

“Ugh…” Bai Yucheng frowned, uncomfortable.

Song Yan reached out, gently massaging Bai Yucheng’s chest through his clothes. He found the two small buds had swollen considerably and hardened, with his usually flat chest slightly raised. This wasn’t strange, given he’d need to breastfeed later.

But Bai Yucheng seemed self-conscious. Since his belly started to bulge, he often avoided letting Song Yan see his stomach and body, including his chest. These changes must have started earlier; he probably didn’t want Song Yan to notice.

Yet he was so cute and beautiful.

Thinking of the adorable changes beneath the clothes, Song Yan unconsciously began to tease, his fingertips slowly circling Bai Yucheng’s nipples.
