Chapter 19: The Mother-in-Law Recruited Everyone! Such High Efficiency

The words “If you want divorce, let’s divorce” truly wounded Song Yan’s heart. Bai Yucheng had just given birth, and they were supposed to be a happy family of four. Now Bai Yucheng wanted to take their daughter and leave?

“Do as you please,” Song Yan said, turning on his heel and walking out. He didn’t want to argue anymore—if Bai Yucheng truly didn’t want to stay, what was the point in forcing him?

Cheng Tian, hearing them quarrel, was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. She hurried over to grab her son’s arm. “Ah Yan, what are you doing? Yucheng is probably just sensitive after giving birth. Why can’t you be more accommodating? You have two children now, after all.”

“Mom, you heard him just now. He feels wronged, and I don’t know what I’ve done to make him feel so aggrieved.”

Knowing it was just a momentary anger between the two, Cheng Tian advised her son to rest in the guest room before going back to check on Bai Yucheng.

Bai Yucheng sat on the bed, silently crying.

This broke Cheng Tian’s heart. She sat down gently beside him. “Yucheng, Ah Yan was just speaking out of anger. You two…”

“Thank you, Mom… I think I should leave.”

“Don’t say that. You don’t know how to take care of the children, and your parents are busy writing their new book… How about this? You need to find a place to live first, and you can’t take both children with you. Why don’t I help look after them, and you can take them once you’ve found a place? How does that sound?”

Now that he calmed down a bit, Bai Yucheng realized he currently had no home, hadn’t returned to work, and didn’t have much money. He could only nod in agreement.

“Look how adorable the two babies are. I’ve already hired a nanny. Why don’t you stay for a few more days?”

“Alright…”

With Bai Yucheng agreeing to stay temporarily, Cheng Tian quickly called Song Shilan, asking him to prevent Bai Yucheng from finding a place at all costs. She then told Song Yan that if Bai Yucheng wanted to return to work, he should let him, and they were not to argue anymore.

Song Yan was a little tired, but still agreed.

Next, she contacted Lin Mei, asking her to come and keep Bai Yucheng company for a few days, but under no circumstances to take him back home. Upon hearing this, Lin Mei immediately formed an alliance with Cheng Tian.

“Don’t worry, my dear in-law. We all support you!”

“They’re both good kids. They just need time to adjust!”

A week later, Bai Yucheng returned to work. His former assistant, Huang Ling, had also returned. She was incredibly grateful to finally have help, and then discovered that Bai Yucheng was actually the CEO’s wife! And they already had two children!!

“It’s alright, Huang-jie. We’re already divorced.”

Huang Ling was speechless: What kind of roller coaster development was this? Everything changed after a maternity leave?! The CEO’s whirlwind marriage and divorce was such big news!

Despite her shock, Huang Ling was still impressed by Bai Yucheng’s work abilities. He was quick, precise, and efficient, even when reviewing reports. He didn’t seem like someone who had just given birth and gotten divorced. In front of Song Yan, he showed no signs of distress, and Song Yan was the same. One couldn’t tell they had married and divorced.

Two months later.

“Give me the work schedule for next quarter tomorrow,” Song Yan said, handing documents to Huang Ling. “Meet with Manager Chen this weekend. Prepare a gift.”

“Okay, Boss Yan.” Huang Ling took the items and left.

Bai Yucheng received reports from various stores, immediately categorizing them and printing what needed to be printed. Huang Ling poured him a cup of tea. “Rest your eyes for a bit. The other cup is for Boss Yan.”

“Alright,” Bai Yucheng smiled. “I’ll take it in.”

Of course, Song Yan didn’t actually ask for tea. Huang Ling was part of Cheng Tian’s team. Seeing Bai Yucheng enter the office, she prepared to leave work.

“Boss Yan, your tea.”

Song Yan responded with a sound. “Just leave it there.”

As Bai Yucheng turned to leave, Song Yan spoke again, “My mother said she wants to buy some diapers for our daughter later. You can take my car and go with me.”

“I understand.”

For two months, they had been like this, with minimal communication beyond discussing their children. Though they still hadn’t decided on their daughter’s name, their son was named Song Yun.

Both had calmed down considerably, partly due to being busy with work.

Sitting alone at his desk, Bai Yucheng was still searching for an apartment, but they were all inadequate. High floors weren’t safe for the children, poor lighting made him uncomfortable, and community management was also an issue.

They still hadn’t filed for divorce.

The current situation was truly difficult. Though Cheng Tian didn’t mind, Bai Yucheng did. His parents didn’t have extra time to help care for the two children. When Song Yan brought up divorce, he was unwilling to let their daughter leave and didn’t want their son to suffer.

This situation had truly put Bai Yucheng in a difficult position!

Moreover, there was a crucial issue: recently, during his heats, suppressants weren’t as effective as before—because he had given birth, things were different now. The doctor suggested he should resolve this with his partner. He had tried the hospital’s special services, attempting to accept other pheromones, but each time, he found the samples repulsive and couldn’t accept them.

Wasn’t this just going back to square one? How could everything still revolve around Song Yan?

Thinking about this, Bai Yucheng felt both anxious and angry. He was furious at his uncooperative body, which now seemed to desire only Song Yan and reject all other pheromones.

Song Yan finished the last document and came out to see Bai Yucheng’s troubled expression. He didn’t say much, just helped him with his coat. As they walked side by side, many people quietly observed the CEO and his spouse, thinking they were a perfect match.

Of course, these people were all part of Mother Cheng Tian’s team!

The two subjects of attention were oblivious to the situation, busy being upset with themselves.

After buying things for their daughter, they returned home to find both children sleeping peacefully, filling them with warmth. Song Yan washed his hands and went to check on the children, asking the nanny about their day.

The nanny adored the children. She whispered, “They’ve been very good. They still need some breastfeeding today.”

“Thank you, Auntie. I’d be so clumsy taking care of them,” Song Yan whispered back. “We wouldn’t know what to do without you all.”

“Oh, there’s a lot to learn the first time. We didn’t know either back then. The older generation helped us,” the nanny beamed. “Just remember, breast milk is essential.”

She then happily pulled Bai Yucheng aside, advising him on various matters to pay attention to.

Cheng Tian seized the moment, “Today, the nanny and I will make some fruit porridge. Ah Yan, come help us.”

For two months, Cheng Tian and Bai Yucheng had been feeding the children. Firstly, to teach Bai Yucheng as it was his first time, and secondly, to create some distance between the young couple, hoping absence would make the heart grow fonder.

Bai Yucheng’s heat was approaching. Surely, something unexpected would happen if they were together.

She thought about this as she led the nanny to the kitchen.

Song Yan, not thinking so deeply, picked up their son and said to Bai Yucheng, “I’ll go in first and wait for you.”

“Bring some wet wipes,” Bai Yucheng replied naturally, without giving it much thought.
