YPSSS Chapter 15
by RaineAPRIL FOOLS! (not!) lol
Huang Yun came back not long after he went out, accompanied by someone else.
Although Huang Yun was slightly shorter than his companion, he still slung an arm loosely over their shoulder like an older brother, which looked rather amusing.
He cleared his throat and announced, “Let me introduce a junior. He’s a first-year from the Military Engineering Department. I just found out their freshmen are having a gathering in the next room.”
His words were met with a chorus of surprised gasps.
Someone immediately called out warmly, “Little Junior, come sit over here!”
The private room was dimly lit, and the atmosphere turned languid as the night deepened. But Xie Ji’s entrance suddenly energized the room.
Xie Ji remained rooted in place, lifting his gaze to sweep across the room before fixing on a particular spot.
Someone was slouching lazily on the sofa. It was not clear whether he was sleeping or not, but his eyes were closed.
While everyone else in the room was being rowdy, he wore a thin white knit sweater, half his face hidden behind the collar. He was so quiet and out of place in the noisy environment, like a fawn that had accidentally strayed into the forest.
Xie Ji stared at him for two seconds.
At the second mark, Xia Shiruan opened his eyes.
Their eyes met.
Xia Shiruan felt Xie Ji from the moment he entered.
Not for any particular reason, except that his pheromones were uniquely striking to him.
The fresh sweetness overpowered all other scents. So fragrant and sweet, it made his scalp tingle with pleasure, compelling him to take two deep, satisfying breaths.
The breathing motion was somewhat noticeable, and he opened his eyes, his eyelids fluttering slightly as he caught sight of Xie Ji standing at the doorway.
The young Alpha stood with his back against the light, his features somewhat obscured in the shadows.
Xia Shiruan stared dazedly in that direction for a long while, thinking he might not be fully awake yet.
Surely he must still be dreaming, otherwise how could it be him again?
It couldn’t be such a coincidence to run into him every time in situations like this. This had to be a dream.
But why was he so sweet? How could someone be this sweet?
If this was a dream, it should be fine, right?
Xia Shiruan quietly watched Xie Ji for two seconds, then with flushed cheeks, called out with certainty.
“Come here for a moment.”
“…”
“…”
“…” Huang Yun swallowed the rest of his words. He still had so much to say, hadn’t even gotten to the main point, when Xia Shiruan suddenly blurted out those words. “Who’s he calling?”
Luo Zhou glanced at Xie Ji beside him and whispered, “Not sure, but seems like he’s calling the junior?”
The “seems like” was completely unnecessary.
Anyone could see that Xia Shiruan’s eyes were fixed firmly on Xie Ji, looking as if he’d spotted a particularly tempting dessert. If there weren’t so many people present, he might have pounced.
While Huang Yun muttered “Did this guy fry his brain with alcohol? What’s he calling about,” he watched as the junior strode toward the sofa on his long legs.
Xie Ji stood before Xia Shiruan, looking down at him with furrowed brows and spoke coldly, at a volume only they could hear, “Impressive, Xia Shiruan, drinking with a group of Alphas?”
Xia Shiruan stared at him hazily.
His mind was still fuzzy from the alcohol and the assault of multiple Alpha pheromones, and Xie Ji’s scent was far more dominant and overwhelming than anyone else’s.
This overwhelming sweetness made his already muddled head even dizzier.
Xia Shiruan tried hard not to let his gaze drift downward to places it shouldn’t, but the intense self-control made his eyes seem unfocused, his expression somewhat dazed.
Seeing no response, Xie Ji slowly frowned and repeated, “You came out drinking with a group of Alphas, and got drunk?”
This was the first time Xie Ji had encountered such an Omega among his acquaintances, and it was Xia Shiruan of all people, who wouldn’t likely do such a thing even if he were a Beta.
Just as Xia Shiruan was about to speak, Huang Yun walked up from behind and patted Xie Ji’s back, asking with a smile, “Junior, what are you talking about? Do you two know each other?”
Xia Shiruan continued to stare blankly at Xie Ji, while Xie Ji stared back, neither confirming nor denying their acquaintance.
Huang Yun mentally ran through several possibilities of their relationship, then assumed a host’s manner and introduced, “He’s our labmate, Xia Shiruan. He can’t hold his liquor well, that’s why he’s like this now. Well, he’s a Beta, so it’s understandable, haha!”
Xie Ji finally turned his head to look at Huang Yun.
The look wasn’t particularly friendly, leaving Huang Yun startled. “What’s wrong?”
Xie Ji stared at him with heavy eyes for a moment before turning away, saying, “Nothing.”
Beta?
So Xia Shiruan hadn’t told his classmates he’d presented as an Omega?
Xie Ji couldn’t understand his reasoning, but he had no interest in exposing him.
The way he was sprawled there so ungracefully was really unsightly. Xie Ji frowned as he took out his phone, intending to call his driver waiting outside to take Xia Shiruan home.
A hand grabbed Xie Ji’s arm.
Xie Ji looked down to meet a pair of misty eyes, their lashes trembling.
He paused in the motion of pushing away Xia Shiruan’s hand.
Xia Shiruan’s skin temperature was unusually high, feeling scorching hot against Xie Ji’s cool arm in the air-conditioned room.
Those eyes looked unfocused. It was definitely not an expression the sober Xia Shiruan would have.
Xia Shiruan tugged on Xie Ji’s arm, pulling him closer, then stared fixedly at his neck. His throat bobbed slightly as he swallowed, whispering so only the two of them could hear, “Let me smell you.”
Xie Ji froze for half a second, his eyes widening.
Then, Xia Shiruan’s hand crawled from his forearm to his shoulder, using it as leverage to pull himself up until he was almost pressed against him, whispering even more softly, “Hurry.”
Xie Ji snapped back to his senses. He jerked away from Xia Shiruan’s grip as if burned, keeping his voice low. “Are you dreaming, Xia Shiruan? Stop acting crazy here.”
Xia Shiruan blinked slowly, as if not understanding what he was saying, and reached for him again.
Xie Ji: “…”
Looking at Xia Shiruan’s reddened eyelids, a single thought flashed through his mind: This guy finally lost it.
These were definitely not words Xia Shiruan would say in his right mind. For a moment, Xie Ji wasn’t sure if Xia Shiruan had gone crazy or if he himself was dreaming.
